Should overweight Policemen be allowed to keep their job in the U.S.A. (Unites States of America)?
The problem with overweight Police is 1 - being fat will make it hard to catch a criminal so the Police Officer is more likely to use his gun more often than necessary and will injure more people unnecessarily. 2 - It will be much harder for a 28 year old, 6 foot tall, 100 pound overweight Police officer to overpower a 19 year old 6 foot tall skinny criminal if you don't agree go to a martial arts class and watch a fight between 2 people with - the same martial arts training - that are the same height - the same age except one is 100 pounds overweight Who would you put your money on to Win the fight. 3 - its much harder for a Police officer to chase and catch a skinny 19 year old criminal ((since a lot of the criminals and trouble makers are usually under 24 years of age. People this age are less likely to be overweight because they have a stronger metabolism)) when they are 100 pounds overweight. 4 - If you called 911 to report a criminal in your House would you prefer a group of 100 pound overweight Police Officers to respond or a group of Police Officers who are a normal healthy weight

Grossly obese, no. There should be a PT test, like in the military, and if you pass it, you're fine. There is some value in having some line-backer looking cops out there.

I think there should be standards, physical standards... That is my personal opinion, but I am sure that their expense Police Union doesn't believe that.

This kind of thing is kind of sensitive. People usually start gaining weight as they get older. Usually that police officer has been a police officer for awhile and has experience. Firing them for being overweight would be quite an insult especially after they worked for the force so long. I am against firing them. If they are really overweight perhaps they could be put behind a desk.

Didn't you watch Paul Blart Mall Cop look how overweight he is and yet he defeats an entire terrorist squad.
