why does the united states do this?

why does the united states do this?
it supports Israel which destroyed my country Lebanon. they say terrorists but they attacked us!! how could we be terrorists. i'm an arab, a christian arab but my best friends are muslim and i don't think they are scary or terrorists they are the best people i know. why does america interfere with things in lebanon and middle east in general? middle east is in the other side of the planet why does america come here. i mean if america stays in america then no harm would be done to anyone. okay people may say what about 9/11 but why did these people that i don't support by the way do this? it is because america supports Israel which is taking Arab land. just be reasonable about it and don't think like they are trying to program you to think. another question is why shouldn't iran get nuclear power and even nuclear bombs. most of europe now has nuclear powerplants. and america is the only country that has actually used nuclear weapons. that should make you terrorists right? but do you know why you aren't called a terrorist? because you won in WWII and the winner writes history. so if germany won the WWII you would be called teroorists and the nuclear bombs dropped on japan would be the holocaust. I am christian and i think that america is just causing trouble. muslims have the right to defend themselves. no matter what ideas the media plant in your heads. and you say you want to bring democracy to us. did you know that the president of Egypt husni mubarak has been president for more than 30 years!!! do you call that democracy? or just because he is an ally of US then you support him in supressing his people and because iran doesn't support US then iran is being barbaric? iran is democratic. there president is elected every four years. i don't think it is fair to manipulate the middle east as you like just so you would control the oil and you would live good. it is our oil and we are living like shit. we deserve to live good too. you consider it bad to get 700$ a month. here you are lucky if you find a job at all and get 300$ what is the mistake that hezbollah did? huh? he fired few missles on israel. well too bad but israel invaded my country 7 times you don't see that do you. and you don't see my friends and neighbors that were killed by israel. americans usually ask: why do they hate us? no we ask you why do you hate us? just because we are arabs and different you hate us and you give israel weapons and money to kill us? and you think suicide bombers are bad. suicide bombers or what i would like to call martyr bombers kill israeli soldiers so that they will not kill their families. and i'm not talking about al-qaeda bombers because i hate people who kill other innocent people. what you need to know that peace in middle east comes when you take israel out of here. and in no other way peace is going to come here. and wars are going to stay breaking untill all arabs die or all israelis die or israelis would go to some place else and give us our land back. and you will see israel break.

First off, Israel is not taking Arab land. Muslims are trying to claim land that does not rightfully belong to them as their own. Secondly, the rest of the world is constantly all over America's ass when they aren't doing something for them. When America doesn't get involved, the response is "Why isn't America doing more?"

Do Christians follow any of the 10 Commandments?

Do Christians follow any of the 10 Commandments?
It seems that many Christians want to put up monuments to the 10 Commandments just about everywhere. However, I wonder if many of these Christians should start practicing what they preach before they try putting up monuments to 10 of their God's Commandments that they often seem to ignore. Today, numerous Christians living within the territory claimed by the government that calls itself the United States of America sat in church as most of the Commandments were violated by their own clergy. Obviously, sermons glorifying the government called the United States of America (regardless of the merits of such government) are a violation of the 1st and 2nd Commandments. The 1st Commandment says that Christians are supposed to worship their God and only their God, not the United States government. The 2nd Commandment says that they are not to make idols and especially not to make idols of "false" Gods, such as the United States government (surely, the flag of the United States government counts as an idol). Undoubtedly, many of these sermons glorifying the United States government celebrated the "liberation" of Iraq and Afghanistan by said government. These are acts of mass murder (which is what "war" is a euphemism for) and therefore glorifying these acts flagrantly violates the 6th Commandment. Since the United States government is funded by "taxes" (a euphemism for property stolen by extortion), glorifying its actions also violates the 8th Commandment. Likewise, any church that accepts money from the United States government's Office of Faith-Based Initiatives or advocates the so-called "Social Gospel" is violating the 8th and 10th Commandments. Associating the Christian God with the actions of an organization that violates his Commandments almost certainly violates the 3rd Commandment. The very fact that Christians attend church on Sunday rather than Saturday is a violation of the 4th Commandment, as the Bible clearly states that the Sabbath is on a Saturday and this was never changed anywhere in the Bible. Regularly, we hear news stories about Christian religious leaders violating the 7th Commandment. I also have no doubt that Christians routinely violate the 5th and 9th Commandments. Does the typical American Christian follow any of their God's 10 Commandments?

No, because Christians are all evil doofuses.
2 :
They don't follow the 613 commandments of The Law, so it doesn't surprise me that they don't follow the other 10. Your average christian can't even name all 10. The 613 laws still exist and must be followed forever.
3 :
Uh...my preacher just talked about not committing sin.....
4 :
Different Christians do to different degrees.
5 :
Do you follow them?
6 :
I think you're stretching things. Christians are no longer under the Mosaic Law or the Old Covenant. They are under the New Covenant. Christians do not keep the Ten Commandments in order to be justified. Of course, nine of the Ten Commandments are still included in the New Covenant. However, keeping the sabbath is not. Christians should only obey what Jesus taught out of love for him. It's called obedience. It's what every Christian should strive to do: live in accordance with the good Word of God.
7 :
*Sigh*, wow, that famous atheist logic skipped you didn't it ?? How do we *worship* the government ?? And just how would the flag be considered and idol ?? And just how do you know what each and every preacher preaches in the pulpit on any given day of worship ?? ROFL, again I ask, where is the logic in anything you just said ?? And by the way, I as a Child of God follow the 10 commandments..... If you are NOT a Christian your vote does not count.... Sorry.... go in peace.... God bless
8 :
Well I don't care about what a "typical" American Christian does or doesn't do. It is sad that Christianity has grown into a stereotypical thing. But I do know that REAL Christians (aka Christians who give more than a once-over to their religion) try their hardest to obey what Jesus commanded, which was to "Love your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind" and to "Love your neighbor as yourself." He said that by doing this, you fulfill all of God's law. If a person where to pattern his or her life after these sayings, then he or she would naturally not commit adultery, be arrogant, and self - centered. But sadly, I suppose the "typical" American Christian does not. The real ones do.
9 :
Apparently you are neither Christian nor American. Faithful Christians strive to live all the commandments of God. True American patriots do not worship the flag nor do we set our government officials as anything above the status of fellow citizens. In fact, many of our politicians have fallen well below what is expected of Americans. Sure, Christians violate the laws of God. We are all human, striving to be the best we can.
10 :
Most christians worship idols. Usually in the form of the bible. Many of them put it over god or Jesus. In fact, southern baptists have officially placed the bible over Jesus.
11 :
I am Christian and I admit that I don't follow them all. But I don't lie about it either.
12 :
What most supposed "christians" DO and SHOULD DO is pretty much up for individual interpretation and debate I'd say. Clearly if one is TRYING to be Christlike - then living the 10 commandments should be an obvious goal too.... many get caught up in the symantics and other such things of the whole thing and FORGET the spirit of the "law".....

Why is the United States so damn hypocritical?

Why is the United States so damn hypocritical?
They try to act like they are the good guys when they go and deal with other corrupt governments.. and take advantage of them. Like what's happening now in Egypt, now they are stuck because the Egyptian government is their strongest ally in the Arab world, so they are actually sticking up for President Mubarak, while at the same time, trying to distance themselves from him because his disapproval is very public right now. What assholes. I know countries do things that mainly benefit themselves.. but then when they go taking advantage of african nations with lots of oil, and then wonder why people are still poor there, its f***ed up. And its not just America who does it. And then these countries consider themselves "civilized" when they are just as screwy as the others, but in different ways. Why do humans have to f*** up everything. I am not proud to be an American, or anything else. This doesn't mean I'm some lunatic who wants America and etc to be bombed, I'm just frustrated because how can I support people who claim to be good when they do a lot of bad things as well? America deserved 9/11 because they spent too much time messing with Middle Eastern affairs that were none of their business. America should spend more time focusing on America, and not trying to fix the world because it just makes things WORSE. and i live in america and there's lots of things to be fixed here. the american government has now f***ed up Iraq even more than it was before.. YES that is totally gonna make more people pro-american! bombing innocent victims and what not. smart move, american government. its almost like they want more attacks on america as they just continue to provoke them. people should have their own democracies.. with what THEY think is right, not necessarily what americans want or the people will blame america! hmm i wonder when in history this has happened before. ummm Iran?? and if i know this as a 17 year old then wouldn't the people making those big decisions know all about it and more? what has america gained from the war on terror? can this war even end? people generally turn to the extremist groups when their basic needs aren't met.. when they need money to support their families and etc. when they cant get education, too why does history keep f***ing repeating itself, dammit @Brianna Mcintosh: America isn't interfering with Egypt as they did with Iraq because America doesn't want to lose their best ally in the Arab world. I find it funny how you clearly have poor reading comprehension as I have said in my OP that I was American. And its funny how you're saying that other countries should fix their own messes, when America CHOOSES to go and interfere with other nations. The US is not the Arab world's nanny, though they try to give the impression of that, when they really are just trying to take advantage of them. @ Entropy: What you said makes a lot of sense, but why does America keep funding Israel, then? The Jews left, so the Palestinians went to those lands. And then the Jews came back after the Holocaust, but the Palestinians were still there and didn't want to give up the land. And then now Israel has been given so much power, and is now trying to take land away from the Palestinians. Both countries generally don't want each other to exist. When I see it this way, the Jews seem to be more of the bad guys since the Palestinians are just trying to keep the land they got once the Jews left. If anything, Germany should be funding Israel for what they did to the jews, and America should fund black people for the hundreds of years of slavery. What does America owe to European Jews? They already fought WW2 for them. It's like the Jews are better than everyone else or something.

International affairs is a complex subject in politics. your frustration is well grounded, but it is also naive. It is naive because IA is complicated. In the history of mankind no nation has put its blood and treasure on the line in defense of OTHER NATIONS liberty like the US has. Every other superpower in human history has used its power to oppress neighboring or colonial nations. The US comes in, topples dictators and attempts to set up governments that are accountable to the local people. This is virtually unique in human history. To your complaint that the US supports dictators, I regrettably have to concede that YES, this does happen. But this is why IA is complicated. The US diplomatic corps advocates human rights and democracy behind the scenes, but in order to maintain stability and international order (an environment upon which developing nations like India, China, South Korea, and various ASEAN, and latin american democracies are dependent), the US DOES have to work with tyrannical governments. Would you anger Egypt? Egypt recognized Israel before anyone else and holds crucial power to impact our allies in Europe and global trade because it holds the Suez Canal. You have to weigh the costs and benefits. Supporting a dictator is annoying, but making sure Egypt is friendly means having an arab voice of moderation in relations with Israel and access to Suez. Those benefits outweigh the unseemly close relationship with a dictator. Would we prefer a friendly democracy there? Sure we would, but that seemed very unlikely until these protests broke out. In the meantime we have to live in the real world, and sometimes that means working with unseemly characters.

I have to totally agree with Entropy. I once thought the same way you do, in fact I was the same age as you when I believed this way. Now I'm a little older and a little more well read.
6 :
You should take some medication for that, mate. The truth of the matter is that the United States IS the good guy. It's actually too much of a good guy, if you ask me, because they splash so much money on Egypt every year, money that can be spent on American people, creating jobs and covering the massive debt its in with China. If anyone is hypocritical, that'd be the people who kept on banging on about how evil America was when it DID bring a dictator down (Saddam Hussein) in an Arab country, and how the Americans shouldn't interfere with the Arab world's business. Well, so now you got your wish and America wants nothing to do with the riots in Egypt and their potential consequences. Stop being such a little whiny ***** and deal with it. Clean your own bloody mess.
7 :
My answer to your problem is simple stop electing the same people into office time after time. If they are not doing what you think is right now they aren't going to do amy better the 2ed and 3ed time around .

I think most Americans really like their fairytale world. It's nice there. And pink, and fluffy. The reason why America invaded Afghanistan is to get in on the poppy seed/opium/heroin trade. Lots of money to be had there. Remember when the U.S invaded Iraq and the first thing the Iraqi's did was started burning the oil fields? The media said it was because Saddam was "cruel" and didn't want his people to have it. Well, guess who has the oil now? There is always more to the story than what it seems on the surface. I'm not saying that everything "conspiracy theorists" say or think is accurate but let's pull our heads out of the sand and get educated. You should be angry. But let that anger drive you to educate yourself and take action, by petitioning your local leaders. Get involved in your local govt. -VOTE-well when you turn 18. Our govt. is absolutely corrupt but who's to blame? If we the people have been lazy about our job to be our country's "quality control" then we can only blame ourselves. The following is a good place to start. Very informative.
