The quote below is from Obama speech today. Do you agree that all the money in the world is the governments money and what we get to keep is government spending? If you do then maybe you are a socialist or a fascist like Obama? What do you think? In America all the money is ours and what is taken away is taxes. THE PRESIDENT: Well, I continue to believe I’m right. (Laughter.) So we’re going to try again. I think what’s different is everybody says now that they're really serious about the deficit. Well, if you’re really serious about the deficit -- not just spending, but you’re serious about the deficit overall -- then part of what you have to look at is unjustifiable spending through the tax code, through tax breaks that do not make us more competitive, do not create jobs here in the United States of America. Harry Balz - I agree and I think everyone agrees Taxes collected by the Gov is Gov revenue. What Obama is saying above is Taxes NOT collected (meaning the money we keep after paying our taxes) is Government spending. This means Obama thinks all the money is the Gov's and what we are allowed to keep by the Regime is spending. Using this definition its impossible to have budget deficits because all money is government spending, therefore when Obama talks about cutting our debt its meaningless to him. This explains why he could careless about the huge debt we are incurring. Obama is a bigger risk to American than terrorist if you ask me. OK, here's how this works. The government increases the taxes I must pay on my business. I raise the cost of my goods and services to cover that. I pass it on to you, the consumer. At some point, you will decide that I'm charging too much and will opt not to frequent my establishment. I will then be forced to let people go or go out of business at which point I let everyone go. Because there are very few who are hiring in this economic down turn, those who are let go will be forced to default on all loans (cars, credit cards, mortgages, etc.). Most lenders are federally insured meaning that when we default, the government picks up the tab -- which means the few who ARE still working will then be taxed even more. If he were truly credible about his seriousness over the deficit and national debt, he would NOT have borrowed $787 BILLION from the Chinese. Treat it like a 30 year mortgage without interest. Do the math and see how much OUR annual payment will be on HIS loan. Nor would he have ram rodded his "Health Care Reform" down our throats. He keeps writing checks that our bodies can't cover. Let me ask you this, When was the last time in the history of this great nation that any increase in taxation actually went towards paying for the programs and deficits already in place? If you decrease people's taxes, the majority will SPEND that money which will then increase the demand side of the Supply and Demand Equation. I cannot afford to hire people to sit around and do nothing while we wait for people to start spending what they do not have. The two things that will kill a business faster than anything is having too many people on staff and not enough work or having too few to meet the demand. Currently, I have what is needed on the pay role... Let the people keep what they've earned. They'll spend it.

It's not the small corporations or the LLCs who have whole floors of legal people and accountants who do nothing but look for "creative" ways of scamming the US tax laws. That 100th president makes a lot of difference. Back when I was in high school, a teacher told me I needed to learn my presidents or I would fail. I said, I only need to know one, the 100th president of the United States of America, and pulled out some money, and thanks to President Franklin I passed.

How is money generated by the US/ in general?
I have been reading a lot in the newspaper about how a recession in America will drive global recession because the US constitutes something like 95% of the world exports. I understand that concept, this may seem like a stupid question but how does the United States have all this money to spend? How is money generated? If we are making money from other countries how is it that we owe so many countries so much money? I dont' know if this is clear, but if you can help me wrap my head around this concept, it would really help. Thanks

Money was generated from past money. This money was originally a note that promised the owner of the note a certain amount of money which was then backed by gold, which was a universal form of money. Gold got to be money because it was rare, and people could denominate things in gold - 1 oz of Gold is worth a cow, a acre of lang, a cannon ball. Banks began printing dollars because gold was very heavy and could be stolen by pirates. Bankers noted that they could issue more dollars than gold because no one wanted all their money at once, and fractional reserve money was born. The US makes money by printing, and buying things with it, like treasury bills it had lent in the past. But the US also allows it's banks to lend out 80% of the dollars they get, so most of the money is created this way. We are not exporting - they are exporting to us. They are also buying from us, but not as much, and the trade deficit is a measure of how much assets foreigners are holding. The idea is the US developed this incredible industrial and capital infrastructure that we are now selling off in order to finance our current consumption. Its like a man who looses his job, sells his house and lives on the cash. Obviously, not a long run solution for his children!

The problem with overweight Police is 1 - being fat will make it hard to catch a criminal so the Police Officer is more likely to use his gun more often than necessary and will injure more people unnecessarily. 2 - It will be much harder for a 28 year old, 6 foot tall, 100 pound overweight Police officer to overpower a 19 year old 6 foot tall skinny criminal if you don't agree go to a martial arts class and watch a fight between 2 people with - the same martial arts training - that are the same height - the same age except one is 100 pounds overweight Who would you put your money on to Win the fight. 3 - its much harder for a Police officer to chase and catch a skinny 19 year old criminal ((since a lot of the criminals and trouble makers are usually under 24 years of age. People this age are less likely to be overweight because they have a stronger metabolism)) when they are 100 pounds overweight. 4 - If you called 911 to report a criminal in your House would you prefer a group of 100 pound overweight Police Officers to respond or a group of Police Officers who are a normal healthy weight

Than in Israel. Cars are more expensive to buy and maintain in Israel. The price of buying any new car in Israel is double the price in the USA. Because in order to buy a car you have to pay almost the full value of the car a 2nd time in Israeli States Taxes. The price of a new Camera, Computer, GPS, Cell Phone and most other electronics in Israel are so expensive that most Israeli stores only sell Electronics that are already out of style in the USA to be able to offer customers a lower (affordable) price. In Israel all your Male children and Male Grandchildren (even if they leave Israel and move to Europe or the USA (otherwise they can get arrested for avoiding Army Service if they ever come visit Israel)) must serve in the Israeli Army. USA = United States of America Also in the U.S.A. you can sleep more tranquil at night. And you don't have to dodge Kassam Missiles from Hamas.

With the mistake of electing Reagan, America became so obsessed with making rich people richer with tax cut welfare that we can't even fix our roads without borrowing money. It's a shame to see a country with so many resources given away to so few.
