what is wrong with America?

what is wrong with America?
If you have a felony in the United States of America, you can't work in the medical field to become a nurse. Let me put some truth to this subject. I want to get a job to make money. The phrase "In God We Trust" is stamped on American currency. Now, Jesus preached to forgive and forget. He also cured the sick, especially those he never met before. I am trying to be like Jesus by helping the sick. Why won't the government allow me to do this? And if that really is the case, then America must believe in a God that isn't Christian. I would just like to add that a felon can get a job still on wall street Don't all religions preach to forgive? Who is america talking about? whatever country will allow me to help the sick, then I will be the religion of that country. Anyway, the government uses the christian god as america's god... but they still lie and say they are so why would anyone want to live in place ran by people who lie to you about your spirituality and then you go and vote for them well, i'm not too far from believing the kooks who think the anti christ will be born into the white house

You will soon learn that not everyone in America trusts in God...

I'm still wondering why i'm able to be arrested for smoking pot. You're not free in America, every day that passes our rights are being stripped away.
3 :
Money is not meaningful. Quit making money
4 :
"In God We Trust" was placed on money in the 1950s as a big "F*** you" to commies (USSR). Are you saying that all of today's problems can be attributed to godlessness? *facepalm*
5 :
every thing , girl i like when ya said "then America must believe in a God that isn't Christian" maybe they don't have faith at all i'm not Christian but i respect it , ya should think bout Islam
6 :
i believe america is wrong for writing "in god we trust" on our money because obviously not everyone in this country believes in god. and, i find it completely offensive that many people consider america to be a christian country. it is not! it never was! there are many different religions out there! you cannot seriously call this country christian! that is just complete balderdash!
7 :
what is wrong with america? we need time to get our shit straight and take off laws that are downright fucking stupid. we need to stop acting like we are invincible because we sure as hell aren't no matter how much fucking money we spend on our military (although we sure as hell are strong in that regard). we are inexperienced as a country let a lone the sole ultra super power of the world. also quick question, what isn't wrong in america? in other words what is right about this country (not political right but correct) freedom of speech? making it less free with stupid technicalities. what we could own guns? what is correct and going good for us ?the other day i heard they were trying to ban violent video games or some shit and oy was i ticked off as if violent videogames really are the reason for causing killers (occasionally it might but that goes with everything thas is related to killing like tv,movies fuck just the influence our military has.) this should be a country of OPTIONS , freedom , and rightous. it turns out it isn't though our democracy is broken our laws are retarded god this goes on and on and on.
8 :
What is wrong is people who break the law knowing the consequences and then whine about it. Not everyone is a Christian in America. God is forgiving and people are not. Fact of life.
9 :
So you think criminals would make good nurses that we could trust to take care of vulnerable patients?

Noam Chomsky receives money from other countries to speak bad of the USA government ---?

Noam Chomsky receives money from other countries to speak bad of the USA government ---?
Noam Chomsky gets paid by other nations to speak bad about USA government In the World there are a group of nations who are enemies of the United States of America. These nations feel that the USA is in their way. These nations all work together, they cover each others backs whenever and wherever they can, regardless of the issue. When the Soviet Union fell, there were many communists who felt betrayed, and who vowed to destroy the USA at any cost, then, now, or whenever they can. They teamed up along with a group known as the Sao Paulo Forum, a radical pro-Communist organization. The Sao Paulo Forum works together with the nations who are enemies of the USA. Nations such as North Korea, Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela, Iran, Somalia, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Ecuador and Algeria are all allied to each other and working together in an "anti-imperialist front". Groups such as FARC, Shining Path, Al-Qaeda, etc, are all also in this league. Even Fidel Castro never lost hope of seeing the USA destroyed one day. Of course, countries like China and Russia both benefit from all of this scenario. They all have one common goal: To push back the USA at any costs, so that they can do wathever they want unhindered. To some extent, some countries from the European Union are also in this train, although in a much more passive way. The relationship among all of the above is somewhat complicated but one thing is true: they are all allied with each other. These nations give money to people such as Noam Chomsky to talk bad about the USA government as much as possible. The idea is to make Americans hate their own country, thus making the foreseeable fall of the USA all the much more likely. Noam Chomsky is paid by the enemies of the USA. Communists continue to actively and to effectively conspire to this very day. Noam Chomsky is paid to talk bad about USA government. Oliver Stone is paid to talk bad about USA government. Sean Penn is paid to talk bad about USA government. The money comes from countries that are enemies of the USA. All in favor of Communism in some places. All in favor of radical Islam / Sharia in some other places. The countries who are enemies of the USA, and the Sao Paulo Forum, are all pushing forward a mediatic campaign to undermine the USA. Communists continue to actively conspire to this very day. And all of this will ultimately benefit, above all else, China.

It's outrageous! The US government should be paying him too!

Noam Chomsky is the world's most eminent living academic. Lots of people pay him to speak to their organisations. And you don't need to be a professor of transformational linguistics to know that you should say "speak badly," not "speak bad." Verbs take adverbs, nouns take adjectives.
5 :
"These nations give money to people such as Noam Chomsky to talk bad about the USA government" I just don't believe this. Is there any proof, or at least a link to this accusation?

Fox News gets paid by foreign interests and they speak badly of the US government. - 17R3W
7 :
Interesting information! Noam Chomsky is not the first left-wing wacko to be on the payroll of our enemies. A while back there was a "journalist" named I. F. Stone whom many liberals took seriously. His columns shamelessly defended every communist dictatorship around the world, and never had anything good to say about our own government. He seemed to follow the communist propaganda line flawlessly, but, of course, if you pointed this out you'd be accused of "red baiting" or "McCarthyism" by the self-anointed elite. When the Soviet Union fell and KGB files (the Venona papers) were opened, guess who, among many Americans, was on the Soviet payroll? Yep--I. F. Stone. For a long time America's enemies have planted propagandists among us, knowing that there will be some who are naive enough or ignorant enough to take them seriously. Noam Chomsky certainly fits that scenario.

i think you have to brush your teeth and wash your mouth before talking about Noam Chomsky .

If China stopped all exports to the United States today, what would happen to the United States?

If China stopped all exports to the United States today, what would happen to the United States?
How would this effect the United States? Actually lets throw in every other country who exports more to the US than they import. What would happen in America? Don't these other countries make most of our material goods and food? Couldn't they just stop the exports today and use those goods for themselves? Or are they maybe waiting till they develop a weapon we can't combat first? It just doesn't make sense to me how the majority of people in America work in office buildings and don't actually make anything of substance(and the people who do make actual things are losing their jobs!). I know we make the money here, but that's nothing more than a piece of paper, right? It seems like the countries who produce could just cut us off and we would be screwed. Or maybe I'm missing something. Someone please enlighten me.

I think the question here is what would happen to China as China owes so much money to the states and is dependant on their goods going to the states.. To answer your question, the states would have no means of getting paid back from china.
2 :
there will be brief shortage of clothes and plastic goods, which will lead to a spike in price until domestic production can be established. After than price will settle at 50-100% more than the current ones. Since resources will be used to produce manufacturing goods, and incomes decline, there will be less services (like restaurants) and less innovation (no new iPhones) and entertainment (less blockbusters) In China, 50% of jobs will be destroyed, leading to complete economic collapse, widespread poverty and possibly even hunger. Which will culminate in revolution against the government.
3 :
The USA actually does have a significant manufacturing base. Employment in the USA is broken down as follows: farming, forestry, and fishing 0.6%, manufacturing, extraction, transportation, and crafts 22.6%, managerial, professional, and technical 35.5%, sales and office 24.8%, other services 16.5% Our manufacturing advantage is in high skilled labor production. In return, we buy low skilled manufactured goods from other countries. We hear about US firms moving to poor countries to take advantage of their cheap labor, but foreign firms also move to the USA to take advantage of our skilled labor. In fact, output per worker is very high in the USA. If China stopped selling us their low skilled stuff, we would buy the same things from other countries.

Here's my wonderful solution to this world-wide economic problem: every country's debt is forgiven, and everyone starts all over with a zero (or as close to) deficit. Toss in this caveat scenario: Country A owes Country B one million, and Country B owes Country A three hundred thousand: that's seven hundred thousand, no longer one million, that Country A is in the hole with Country B, and Country B is clear of its debts to Country A. However, Country B owes Country C two million and Country C owes Country A seven hundred thousand. Country A will forgive Country C of its seven hundred thousand in exchange for forgiving Country B of seven hundred thousand of the two million it owes. If Country B & C agrees, then Country B forgives Country A of its seven hundred thousand it still owes Country B. Country B still owes Country C 1.3 million, Country A owes nothing to either, so Country A agrees to receive equivalent value of goods from Country B in exchange for paying off what is owed by Country B to Country C. None of these goods from Country B can be sold to Country C (or any other country) by Country B: this will be exclusive export rights to Country A. Once Country A-C are free & clear of all debt to either other, they form an International Finance Committee of just themselves, and use its liquid assets to clear themselves of debt from Countries D, E, and F, and in turn, evolve D, E, and F into the newly formed IFC. From this point, the free-from-debt countries can invest in and finance other countries' debts, but NOT by using ANY assets from the newly formed IFC: they can only use their countries' own liquid assets. Just like what the IBC was once like, the IFC's funds are there only as a world-crisis support, not to support any deals made by them to other countries INCLUDING to the countries within the IFC. Talk about a cleaned slate!!!!
5 :
Our nation would make do while India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and some Latin American nations ramped up production. The foreign producers are compelled to meet payrolls, maintain suppliers, warehousing and transportation facilities to the point that they would have little motivation to join China in such a work stoppage.
6 :
First of all, I don't which part of an isolated metropolitan area you live in in the US, but seriously, you should go out mroe. Manufacturing is still a very fundamental part of the US economy. And if China were to stop exporting to the rest of the world including the US, of course, we'd be screwed, at least in the short term, but they'd also be screwed, in fact screwed much more badly in the short and long term. When something abrupt like this happens, of course the economy won't be able to adjust immediately, and in the short term in the US, we might see the price basic goods skyrocketing since the short term demand won't be met by domestic supply. However, the economy will gradually adjust and find its new equilibrium. Assuming of course that this trade embargo will continue indefinitely, domeitc manufacturing of basic goods will grow rapidly, as well as increased imports from other countries excluding China. Eventually, demand will be met by supply, which it ALWAYS does, but of course the price for these goods will likely be much higher. China on the other hand, will be stuck with mountains of manufactured products that will take years to consume but sky rocketing unemployment rate and collapse of its manufacturing sector. Americans will eventually have to manufacture the plastic cups they need for tomorow's party themselves (in the short term, I guess we'll just have drink from the bottle or stopping all the partying) , but what is China going to do with a billion umemployed people?

Why don't USA Conservatives believe in America?

Why don't USA Conservatives believe in America?

The Federal Government of the United States of America represents all the people of this country, and if we would agree to give our 100% to US Government revenues and then receive an equal distribution of the wealth, then we'd finally be CREATED EQUAL! When we in this country work jobs and make money, it is for the greater good of American society, why isn't it? We are working for a common cause. The beauty of America should be that each person could work extremely hard, or be out sick or not work at all....but at the end of the day....everyone receives exactly the same amount of wealth to spend.... And the incentive to work is to enrich not just yourself, but EVERY American! All 300 million Americans! Then we would really be a community, and through the US Government, we can make the dream possible. why don't Conservatives believe in this? Working together and receiving equal distributions of our combined shared labor to make America great? U.S. Government programs exist to help all the people in America. Corporations just wanna make money. We need less companies and more Government stuff, and then we could all live well as US Government employees with good benefits, every American Do you ever come to think America obtained its wealth mainly in cruel ways? 18th and 19th century wealth was built on stealing land from Native peoples and slavery in the South. 20th century wealth was built on victories in 2 World Wars and the aftermath when EVERY Country was in turmoil except the United States and Soviet Union, and finally the USA. It just SO happened that the system in the country that thrived was free market and it took its superiority out on the world.... It IS true that democratic values create a healthy system, it is NOT true that pure free market is what did it because as we all know, look how many people are jobless thanks to lay offs courtesy of that so-called free market. IT's not capitalism that made America strong, nor was it capitalism our Founders dictated to us, it was Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness....and I don't see that in pure capitalism...

"Working together and receiving equal distributions of our combined shared labor to make America great?" If you replaced America with North Korea, you could use it on one of their propaganda posters.

Why would anyone believe this crap... I worked my @ss off for years to accumulate my wealth and I see people sitting around having more children so they can collect more government assistance. People are just lazy these days. Why should these people have the same things as me when they haven't done a single thing to earn it. I don't know what parallel universe you live in, but it won't work in this one. Not if we have anything to say about it.
17 :
Because Conservatism is about making the most money humanly possible. They are hoarders, sharing is not in their vocabulary. Conservatives are the one that want to work people to death for 11,000 a year for a single person and 24,000 a year for a family of 4 (btw, these are the wages are at poverty level, but its minimum wage...). Conservatives do not gain massive amounts of money by given those less fortunate a helping hand
18 :
That's called communism and it's the exact opposite of what this country stands for and the ideals it was founded upon. This country is the land of opportunity, meaning you have every opportunity to make yourself whoever you want to be. That is the problem with you libs, you don't believe in self responsibility, you think the government should care for and provide for you every step of the way.
19 :
We don't believe in what you describe because that is not America. That is Communism which has failed every time it has been tried.
20 :
This question reminds me of that episode of 'King of the Hill' when Bobby wanders off into the woods and meets Hippies and eats Hippie soup.
21 :
Holy crap you must have been a very successful brainwashing subject. If wealth was completely redistributed than where is the incentive to work? Get an education? Competition is healthy for an economy and people. Wow, this is sad.
22 :
That's called communism. Perhaps you should read a lovely little book called Animal Farm by George Orwell that explains the problems inherent in that system quite nicely. Or you could look at what happened to the U.S.S.R. Oh, or check out the lovely standard of living in China.
23 :
I agree with you to some extent. We need to have a better distribution of the wealth, there is no reason we can't all have the things we need. As of now 99% of the countrie's weath is owned by a small group of wealthy corporate executives. There is no reason for it to be this way. the money is not trickling down. it's being hoarded by the rich. If we had better distribution of wealth, crime would dramatically decrease and ethnic diversity wouldn't lead to racial tension. By the way I don't advocate taking from the Middle class, as they are not the problem. I think the very wealthiest, top 1% should be stopped from hoarding everything, as they don't really contribute to society but rather, profit from it. Unfortunately, conservatives don't agree with this view. They don't want a united America. They embrace a spirit of selfish, extreme individualism, everyone for themselves. That's partly why we have no sense of community anymore. They are the ones who turned us into a consumer based, and over materialistic economy. Conservatives also favor racial segregation, they fought it in the 1960's.
24 :
This is why we believe in America: If the worker bees give all their earnings to a higher authority, say the US Government, then you have also given all your power to the US Government. No equality there. If all the worker bees are allotted exactly the same amount of income as, say a welfare cheat who doesn't want to work and keeps having children, those with more mouths to feed will receive more income than a worker bee with no children. No equality there. If all the business owners are making as much as the worker bees, they move to another country where there is more competition and ability to grow their own wealth. Thus leaving the worker bees without a company to work for. Hmm...maybe there is equality there since the worker bees will then be in the same position as the unmotivated of society. If all the worker bees are out of work, and all the businesses are moving out of the country, and all the welfare cheats keep having more and more children, where will the money needed to sustain even a fraction of life's necessities come from? Not the government. They cannot collect what we do not have. And you can't incentivise the companies to stay because then, you start creating inequality among the people. We love our country too much to see your scenario happen to it without putting up a fight.
25 :
There is no more USA, not since both major parties sold this country to unethical business failures. Your tax dollars are going to the bonuses of the likes of Lehman Brothers execs: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100319/ap_on_bi_ge/us_lehman_brothers_whistleblower
26 :
I'm afraid that you're mistaken in thinking that spreading wealth is "American". This country was founded on the basis of all citizens having a fair shot at success, not a guarantee. The harder you work the more successful you will (probably) be. It it then your choice to share your wealth through charity or not. I personally believe we SHOULD all VOLUNTARILY give to charities. Unfortunately many don't give their fair share. For instance, Vice President Joe Biden only gave .003% of his income to charity in the year leading up to the election. It is not a Liberal or Conservative thing. It is a good human being vs. jerk thing. Forcing people to share what they have made is a Marxist/Communist thinking, and actually flies in the face of the American way of life. That way of thinking is why the U.S.S.R. is no more.

Shouldn't the U.S.A make street drugs legal?

Shouldn't the U.S.A make street drugs legal?
Since all of us have felt the effects of the great economic recession -- albeit personally or through a friend or family member -- wouldn't it make sense to legalize marijuana, cocaine, etc? BILLIONS upon BILLIONS of dollars of our hard earned tax-payer money is poured into the act of chasing down people who either sell or use these drugs -- all in the name of keeping our neighborhoods 'safe'. However, my question is this: Shouldn't we use those same billions wasted on drug containment and instead invest the money in guaranteeing a world-class education to every single student in the United States of America? So that they are not tempted to use or sell drugs in the first place?

Do Canadians know a lot about the states?

Do Canadians know a lot about the states?
Exactly what percentage of Canadians know THESE 10 facts? 1) The USA, the country that borders Canada to the south, is called The United States of America, deservingly or undeservingly the #1 wealthiest country in the world. 2) The USA is going through a financial crisis, affecting the rest of the world even more than itself, ironically strengthening the USA's own dollar in relation to the other G8 countries' currencies. 3) The USA current President is George W. Bush. 4) The USA is a FREE country, but healthcare is privatized so some Americans suffer without health insurance. 5) The USA is fighting certain wars, one of which is in Iraq (The President to this day believes that the world sees America's COMPASSION in spreading freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people, as a liberator perhaps comparable to women suffrage and aboriginal rights!!!? ....if you will) 6) The USA president Bush claims to be a very religious "compassionate conservative". (As a compassionate conservative, rather than "work with other countries and their constituents", he just does what he pleases and then cheaply TELLS each country on a foreign policy visit "Your country is one of our greatest allies.") 7) The USA has some states with death penalties for crimes, the biggest deathrow state being Bush's own home state. 8) The USA has millionaire celebrities in Hollywood, California like Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears. And they get disaproportionate media coverage. But in America's defense, Canada has Pamela Anderson, who is also quite a rich model hottie from BC. 9) The USA has lots and lots of rich billion-dollar corporations like Exxon-Mobile and Walmart and McDonalds and Coca-Cola. But in all fairness, the UK has Tesco and Canada has Tim Hortons and Rogers. 10) The USA has lots of nuclear weapons and defense money but it does not seem to be saving the US from being surpassed by the combined powers of other countries of the world catching up to the USA. So....lol....what do you think of the USA? Do these facts make people think highly of the USA? FUN FACT: One of the most hilarious George W. Bush moment was Bush visiting France. After probably just learning what the French Revolution was, he made a speech like a kid in Grade 7 doing a research report. About America's historic ties to France, and then using this justify why France needs to send its troops to Iraq to show its alliance with the USA. France said "Thanks, but no thanks, we don't support your war." Then the USA started verbally condemning all things French culture.

Well, as a Canadian who recently moved to the states, I'd say 4 is a little confusing (why is FREE capitalized? Is the US extra free compared to other developed countries? Besides the ease of buying guns and liquor in this state, I don't see much difference.) 7) I wouldn't be completely sure what George Bush's home state is and which has the most inmates on death row. 10) Some of that is debatable. Actually, there's a fair helping of opinion sprinkled in among the facts throughout this post, some of which I agree with and some of which I find a little iffy.

4 :
We kn ow and care about them more than they know about us. How many Americans know or care about our recent election?
5 :
This is an odd question. The average Canadian would have to be living in a hole not to be aware of everything that you mentioned. Answer me this: do you believe that Canadians live in igloos with no electricity, like your question seems to suggest? I'd also hazard a guess that the average Canadian knows a good deal more about America and the rest of the world than the average American knows about Canada and the rest.
6 :
7) George Bush was born in Connecticut. He was only governor of Texas. So you could technically argue that Texas is his home state, but it's definitely not his native state. I'm American, but I do think that most Canadians know at least some of these things. As for number 3 I wouldn't be surprised if someone in the middle of Siberia would know that Bush is the president. He's fairly well known. And I'm sure most Canadians are aware of number 4, especially after Michael Moore's movie.
7 :
Probably a lot more Canadians know and understand these facts than people in the U.S. About 83- 87% of Canadians know this if surveys are more or less accurate. That is the percent of Canadians who would vote for Obama. Not quite 50 % of AMericans seem to appreciate your list of facts (not speculations), as shown by similar voter surveys, the percent of Americans that say they will vote for Obama, the rest are sufficiently ignorant to consider voting for McCain. I can not believe they would vote for McCain if they were informed, Americans are not particularly stupid but many are willfully ignorant. WHich is worse. Of course the world thinks badly of the USA. THe coming economic disaster will have the even worse effect of making U.S. piggishness in the banking system personal and make more people even angrier. I just hope the USA can undo some of the Bush damage, just as Texas is now starting to recover from its Bush as governor years. Fun Fact. Texas immediately started undoing almost all the Bush proposed legislation as soon as the sh*thead was out of office. This implies that the democratic process failed to work while he was in office, somehow subverted by him, his clan, and his assh*le buddies with so much oil money.
8 :
All these facts are known by the every Canadian Citizen. We know more about you then you'll ever know about us....I would even say that many Canadians know more about the US then some US citizens themselves.
9 :
100% of Canadians. Unlike Americans, who typically know almost nothing about Canada, Canadians know pretty much everything about the US.
10 :
so tell us something we don't know these facts don't impress at all
11 :
You forgot about Florida being US' wang. And Canada sending the oil down to the US refineries and then buying it back. And the part where the US economy affects the rest of the world because of the trading system that was set up. Don't forget your large Spanish speaking population. Not everything is about the English and the French.
12 :
When i was 13 i met a girl not much older who knew more about america then I did and I'm american! she knew who our president was, who he ran against, etccc. I barely even knew.
13 :
In all honesty, I think this question does nothing more than confirm many Canadians beleifs about Americans. All of the points that you make, just prove the "typical" Americans way of thinking. I don't consider myself all that knowledgeable about the USA, but I do know all of these facts, plus a lot more. Did you know that there is more information in Canada about the USA presidential election then there was about our own recent election. Did you know that Canada is also a FREE country. Did you know that I in paticular no longer view the USA as being the #1 wealthiest country in the world after watching the second last presidential debate on T.V. It was during this debate that I learned just how high the deficit it if the USA. I don't recall the exact number, but it was a number measured by the TRILLIONS!!!! You can not possibly think you are "wealthy" when you owe this kind of money to other countries. Do you ever watch Jay Leno and see when he goes out and questions people about Canada, nobody even knows the most basic information about us. What is out political leaders name....what is his title? What is the capital of Canada? P.S I don't know Julie from Canada!!!

1) Yes, obviously 2) Of course, I've known that for a while now 3) Yes, that is until you vote next month 4) Yes 5) I'm sure EVERYONE knows that. When has America not been some way involved in a war? 6) No, I did not know that. 7) Yes, but I didn't know about Texas being the biggest death row state. 8) Yes 9) I knew that, but I've never heard of Exxon-moblie before 10) Yes I think this is very funny. If you don't like the U.S. so much, why not move elsewhere? That's the funny part. You keep ranting about the United States when you could spend your time packing to go to another country.

I know about America today (through the news and movies and such), and some American history (as it sometimes coincides with Canadian history and I read alot of history novels). And I also think I know more about the French revolution than Bush :) Of course I knew about all of the facts you posted! And I am not mad/suprised that the States knows a lot less about us than we do them becuase they are the worlds superpower and we are small (pop wise) and have less publicity etc. Although, I do think Americans should have a general knowledge of world countries, and I think most of them do! Although some chose to remain ignorant.

debtors' prison in the united states, why?

debtors' prison in the united states, why?
It's weird, I thought I read somewhere in the us constitution that a debtors' prison is forbidden. All I find is amendment 13 which abolishes slavery, that in itself should be a law against debtors prison.. Yet I hear about people in jail who owe money, examples:, fines,IRS, alimony, child support etc. It makes me sick. That basically says that it is ,in fact ,illegal to be poor in America!!! What can we as a people do to be free of such a horrible thing? Or are we just completely screwed?

It's not debtors prison because they aren't working off their fines, they are going to jail for a refusal to pay those fines

your source is for the most part crap. YOu do not go to jail for a debt. You may go to jail for refusing to deal with the debt. YOu go to jail for contempt of court for refusing to pay child support; not for owing it. Not being unable; refusing, The poor, are pretty much not the parties you seem to think are being jailed. If you are REFUSING to pay cort ordered child support, you should be in jail.

people need to pay their debts off. Point blank. Take responsibility for their own actions.

It's easy, support the children you breed and don't screw with the IRS. You cannot go to prison if you default on a credit card.

What are you talking about? I've never heard of debtors prison here in the USA. The reason being, there isn't any, period. Yes people go to jail for defrauding others thru investments and such. If you commit any infraction, then yes you can and will go to jail for refusal to pay. Now as for alimony, each State is different in this. Some require you to pay and some don't. I have a friend that was in the military, his ex-wife is a resident of a State that requires lifetime payments of alimony after a divorce. The State that he was a resident in, requires maintenance payments for 5 years and nothing more. She got the 5 years, but as long as he remains a resident of his home State, then he's not required to pay her more. Yes, that was proven in court. There is really no law on the books that says that we have to pay income taxes. But, after we do our 'first' tax return, there is a statement saying that we agree that we owe income taxes, when we sign it. Perjury comes into this here. Now child support? A child is not a debt, but a commitment. Yes, you can go to jail for not paying.
