Are we doing the right thing by sending all our money and technology to China?
Another crucial factor in the Latin American leftist resurgence is the assistance of former Soviet officials and other international connections, according to Toby Westerman, editor of International News Analysis and author of Lies, Terror and the Rise of the Neo-Communist Empire — Origins and Direction. Westerman told The New American that a worldwide alliance including Communist China, Islamic fundamentalism, Iran, leftist Latin American rulers and guerrillas, and other forces were all collaborating in a war against the United States, united by their “anti-human, anti-God†ideology. “[The Russians] are running the same game, just slightly different — it’s more of a franchise operation than a central corporate operation, if you will. But if you take Russia out of it, the whole thing collapses.†Indeed, the Russians have been supplying advanced weaponry to regimes like Chavez’. Russian National Security Council Chief Nikolai Patrushev actually attended the most recent ALBA summit last year. And China and Iran have both jumped on the bandwagon as well, cooperating with a variety of unsavory Latin American governments in myriad sectors and projects. “We are creating a new world, a balanced world. A new world order, a multipolar world,†Chavez told reporters during a visit to Communist China, one of many. His “new world order†includes China, Iran, Japan, and a significantly weakened United States, he explained. http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/world-mainmenu-26/south-america-mainmenu-37/3122-resurgent-communism-in-latin-america The United States is being milked while its citizens suffer. For what! So that some corrupt Monopolies can make a fortune. @armchair- I was complaining when Bush was in office. I was one of those who couldn't stand Bush. I'm an Independent not a Republican.

We are funding are own future adversary and we will have only ourselves to blame when China gets enough power that it becomes embolden to forcibly retake Taiwan and tries to dominate Asia, it will happen. Make no mistake, we are the sole reason for China's rapid growth in economic power.

Of course not. We spent the last half of the 20th Century propping up communist countries.

We are the competitors of other countries. That is why world opinion is a stupid thing to care about. Their opinion is that we do what is best for them, not us.

Foreign aid is only 1% of our total budget. If we were actually doing what you suggest right now on the technology end (we did it under Bush/Reagan in terms of our patents and technology, and again under Bush/Cheney), we would not currently be in a race with China to be the world's LEADER in alternative energy products (see recovery.gov website). There are more than 40 states in the U.S. with new or refurbished factories busy making alternative-energy products for use at home and for shipment as exports around the world. President Obama and his team of experts have been very busy getting foreign markets more open to receiving our exports, and they have convinced China's government to stop manipulating the yuan (their currency) to put our marketable goods at a disadvantage. Where were you with this complaint when the eight-year reign of terror called Bush/Cheney allowed the trade deficits to SOAR while outsourcing all of our manufacturing jobs? President Obama has been dealing with these problems almost since day one of taking office (see recovery.gov).

This is nothing new. American Business men and women have been sending America to China for years. It is because of our American old timers in Business that we are in this position. Back in the early 30'' and 40's the American Business People were so greedy they hired China workers to make them rich. They moved lumber, metal works, and all types of monopolies to China. Then the product was made in China and sent back to America. Our own Greedy American Business People did this to us. Took jobs from America and gave them the jobs so they could get cheap labor. Un-believable what they did to get cheap labor. Now Karma is bitting them in the azz. But many of them who sold America out, still come to the American soil, so when they die, they have their disloyal azz buried on America dirt.

How can anyone NOT support Tea Party values?
How can anyone NOT support Tea Party values?
The impetus for the Tea Party movement is excessive government spending and taxation. Our mission is to attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets. Core Values •Fiscal Responsibility •Constitutionally Limited Government •Free Markets Fiscal Responsibility: Fiscal Responsibility by government honors and respects the freedom of the individual to spend the money that is the fruit of their own labor. A constitutionally limited government, designed to protect the blessings of liberty, must be fiscally responsible or it must subject its citizenry to high levels of taxation that unjustly restrict the liberty our Constitution was designed to protect. Such runaway deficit spending as we now see in Washington D.C. compels us to take action as the increasing national debt is a grave threat to our national sovereignty and the personal and economic liberty of future generations. Constitutionally Limited Government: We, the members of The Tea Party Patriots, are inspired by our founding documents and regard the Constitution of the United States to be the supreme law of the land. We believe that it is possible to know the original intent of the government our founders set forth, and stand in support of that intent. Like the founders, we support states' rights for those powers not expressly stated in the Constitution. As the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, in all other matters we support the personal liberty of the individual, within the rule of law. Free Markets: A free market is the economic consequence of personal liberty. The founders believed that personal and economic freedom were indivisible, as do we. Our current government's interference distorts the free market and inhibits the pursuit of individual and economic liberty. Therefore, we support a return to the free market principles on which this nation was founded and oppose government intervention into the operations of private business. Our Philosophy Tea Party Patriots, Inc. as an organization believes in the Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government, and Free Markets. Tea Party Patriots, Inc. is a non-partisan grassroots organization of individuals united by our core values derived from the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America, the Bill Of Rights as explained in the Federalist Papers. We recognize and support the strength of grassroots organization powered by activism and civic responsibility at a local level. We hold that the United States is a republic conceived by its architects as a nation whose people were granted "unalienable rights" by our Creator. Chiefly among these are the rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The Tea Party Patriots stand with our founders, as heirs to the republic, to claim our rights and duties which preserve their legacy and our own. We hold, as did the founders, that there exists an inherent benefit to our country when private property and prosperity are secured by natural law and the rights of the individual. As an organization we do not take stances on social issues. We urge members to engage fully on the social issues they consider important and aligned with their beliefs. Isn't it a joke how America the richest nation in the world has 4 million of it's people without healthcare?
Isn't it a joke how America the richest nation in the world has 4 million of it's people without healthcare?
This is not American bashing but this is one of the biggest travesty's in this country today. It's embarassing that some countries in the world with much less money than the United states can somehow get healthcare for everybody. Others in the world gurantee free healthcare for everyone. But how can a country as rich & properous as America can deprive 4 million of it's own people healthcare? I hope that whoever the next president is will make this a top priority. You could be right phlatulent_phrog. I wouldn't be suprised if it's much more than that.

Yes I see maybe those people that can't afford healthcare it is pretty expensive ya know and not everyone in the country have the same level of income as richer people do. Not saying you have to be rich just richer than people who can't afford it. I would like to get healthcare myself but can't affor it yet as I've started a new business and haven't started earning income for myself. So theres something you should to account first.
11 :
It IS a joke. There is no reason why our government couldn't make sure EVERY american has basic healthcare that includes routine physicals and basic tests. Insurance was ment to be used when something was wrong but by the time the doctor finally orders the tests that show something, your deduction has been met and your already $1,000's in debt. Will it get fixed? Not as long as americans keep supplying government employees with healthcare. They dont pay for it, so how would they know what it's like to be without!
12 :
It is basically all about whose pockets get lined in the political areana. I am one of millions...not just mere 4 millions...that does have health insurance but it barely covers the barest of needs. My co-pay is $30 per visit. My prescriptions run $10, $30, and $50 depending on the drugs and if they are generic or not and also if the insurance covers them. And in some cases I can not afford to spend $50 per prescription if I get more than one at a time on top of a doctor visit too. It is a shame really that though we have some of the best healthcare in the world that not all of us can get it. It is expensive for one thing and for another getting even a good doctor is another challenge especially for the poor. If the government would not be so caught up in its little games maybe more people would not have to do without the healthcare they need.
13 :
it is no joke to the 40 million
14 :
I agree, healthcare should be available to everyone, and life should be valued above money. But I live in Canada, and we have free healthcare, but it's slow, and we get taxed pretty heavily because of it. And despite our free healthcare, it's not accessible to everyone. If you don't have a healthcard, unless your in critical condition..you can't count on any help. Don't feel to bad about your healthcare system, it may not be the best, but wealthy Canadians have actauly travelled abroad to spend lucritive sums of money on healthcare, because it's far to slow in Canada. Theres been people who have gone to the US, and even as far as India in search of prompt service.
15 :
It's not a joke, and it's not a coincidence. If you'd rather live in a country that is like Canada, then move to Canada. I prefer it here.

Actually, I thought the figure was 37M, but that simply makes the situation even sorrier. Who's laughing.... not the people without health care. Have you seen the health care that is given to the people in other countries. It's not very good. Ask some of them don't just see that it's there. To be honest what we as a country make available to indigents and people without health care goes a longer way than most of the countries that do have these health care plans. I know this because a lot of those people come to our country for special surgeries and they have to pay out of pocket for so much. There are times that the health care doesn't see the benefit out weighing the cost. And that is what can happen in America if we don't study this thing well and get it right before we run with it. Look at welfare and social security. ~ I hope that whomever is the next 10 president will implement it then study it do those 2 years studies and blind studies like the pharmaceutical companies do for drug testing and get it right. We help everyone if you don't believe me go to the border and see how many people are trying to get into America... Not one is trying to get out.
19 :
I agree,Canada doesn't have that much money and we have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better healthcare than you guys.
20 :
Scooter, is there another country that has less? let us know so we can go there illegally and get some of their health insurance benefits. :-)
21 :
Health care for everybody IS available. All you need to due is "Get A Job" with benefits, or build a "successful" business and PAY for it. On the other hand there is "Socialized Medicine" in some countries, like Canada. I think THAT is what YOU are interested in. But NOT what you WANT, if you research it. There are very good reasons to keep "Health Care" the way it is, here in the USA. I'm not saying it's "inexpensive", but the quality of "care" is among the best in the World. When "Health Care", becomes "Socialized Medicine", the quality of care goes down fast. And that is only the beginning of your "problems" once you start "Socializing" stuff. Ask yourself,"Who pays for 'socialized medicine'?" Some say, "The Government". So, where does "the Government" get the "money" to pay for it??? TAXES!!! Who pays TAXES? Not the "Mooches" who want "socialized ANYTHING"!!!
22 :
One of the biggest jokes of our time. I have health issues, I have some health insurance if that's what you would like to call it...Here's a sample of my out of pocket monthly... one scrip I pay $73.13 ...2nd one I pay $54. ...3rd one I pay $110. Unfortunately they are not available in generic so the $4. generic plan can't help me. I also have a job. You are dead on about this issue. Politician's today only care about their pockets, not the citizens in this country. Hat's off to Canada!!
23 :
Actually it's a national disgrace. Only the AMA and the pharmaceutical companies enjoy this status quo: a health care business rather than a health care system. And I suppose that the doctors and drug companies are funneling a piece of their profits to our elected bureaucrats--to ensure that we never get socialized medicine. As always, we have the Best Representatives That Money Can Buy. Only the idea of reform is a "joke."
24 :
have you seen a health insurance building? they're huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's because they rip people off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only the idea of reform is a "joke."

have you seen a health insurance building? they're huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's because they rip people off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it that flying an American flag is less accepted than claiming ethnicity in the United States?
Why is it that flying an American flag is less accepted than claiming ethnicity in the United States?
(true story) So I get out of my truck, into the gas station, to see a man from India behind the counter. That's a common sight these days, not a big deal. I grab a Mountain Dew 1 liter and head to the counter. "How are you doing today?" He asked. "Just fine, thanks." "So what is that flag on your...antenna? Antenna, right?" "Yeah. It's the American flag." "Oh, so... you are a redneck, right? I think that what they called them. I got a funny E-mail from my cousin.." "Nope, just an American, proud of his country. What's that on your head?" I decided to ask. "It's my dastar." "You mean turban, right?" "Yeah, I-I guess.." "Well, why do you wear it?" "I like to, and it's a symbol of where I come from. It reminds me of home" "Well, The flag on my truck symbolizes where we are right now, America. By the way, if where you came from is home, why did you leave?" "I came here to make money." "Well, there's something I want you to remember. That flag, while you're here, is more important- than where you came from, and I was born in Germany!" He whispered under his breath "Americans....pfff..." Yeah my flag is pretty small, ^^

Because we let just anyone and everyone in this country now a days. And let them tell us how we should live. In the USA when we call a company or bank or wherever should we have to choose whether we want English or Spanish or any other language? Should letters from companies be printed on both sides of the paper in different languages, should different copies of the same magazine at the store in different languages. We are in America where English is the official language (supposedly). If you were not born here you are here by CHOICE you need to adapt to the ways of the USA not the USA adapt to your ways.

People migrate for many different reasons.. many people migrated to the US in particular, because their own countries where devastated by the direct outcomes of the actions that the USA instilled upon them. It's easy for Americans to expect migrants to be thankful, but if you put yourselves in their shoes, they figure they have made major moral sacrifices to be where they are and somehow the American people owe them, at least a little. So from where I'm standing, that American flag means very little. Then again I'm in Australia where the sun shines and whilst no one gives a S hit about our own flag we love the ground we walk on.

Is There a Job That "Requires" You to Travel? Enough Money to Travel the World?
Is There a Job That "Requires" You to Travel? Enough Money to Travel the World?
I'm still really young (lets just say under 18 ha), let me say that first, but ever since I discovered all the continents in the 3rd grade, I've wanted to travel the world. I am extremely interested in art, and that's pretty much any branch of art there is. I really am not sure what I want to be when I get older, but I do know I love art, cooking, traveling, and discovering new things/places. I love geography too. Is there any jobs that fit one of these areas that you sorta have to travel a lot to get? Does it take a lot to travel the world? I really want to see the landmarks of the world, mostly Europe, the all the states in America, some parts of Asia and Africa, and Australia. Its a lot of places. I'm really interested with ancient ruins and stuff like that. I love the outdoors, like camping and mountain climbing, etc. I love to go sightseeing. As of right now, my family hardly travels. I live in the United States, in Michigan, and I have seriously only been to Illinois and Ohio. I don't expect to make all this money so fast, and I understand it will be many many years or more that I could actually travel a lot, even after I get a job. Like I said I'm really young to decide all this, but it's really what I want to do when older. It it really possible to get a job to suit traveling and save enough money to do it? (BTW, there are currently 62 countries I'd like to see, even though I know about 10 of them I probably couldn't) What do you think?

I now know why people around the world hate or pity the United States...?
I now know why people around the world hate or pity the United States...?
After quite a log time out of the US and in Japan, I come to realize why our nation is always criticized by other countries and I agree with them now. I used to think that the US was always criticized because we where a better nation of the world and that others "envied" or way of life, but that turned out to be really ignorant of me. I'll get to the point, after spending 2 years I japan I realized how inferior the US has gotten over the years, I see how we are manipulated by the media and its effect on our lives, the media seems perverted to me now and unwatchable. I see how education system in our country is so bad and disgusting in terms of standards compared to the rest of civilization. I now see how our government is so corrupt and driven by money and power instead of trying to rally make an effort in making a better society which has great potential. I would not expect you guys to understand me cuase if you did we would not be in this mess we are in now. America needs to wake-up A lot of people here are driven fear, ignorance or just plain stupidity. It makes me sick to see some of you discuss the topic of immigration for example. Some of you refer to these "illegal immigrants" as some sort of sub-human creatures who are stupid and disease ridden parasites. And who are here to take away our culture...what culture are they taking away? People seem to care more if Britney Spears has no panties over our education system and our nations problems. You lable these people as monsters, wetbacks, monkey and whole other load of crap. How many times do we have to go thru this we did the same to the black people the irish, chinese, japanese, german and so called "communist" people. not to mention the native americans sure some of us were not involved in these things but history is repeating itself again with "illegal immigrants". Some of you call yourself patriots or "real" citizens but in reality you are nothing but puppets of your ignorance and lack of knowledge... why are some of you so angry? I was born here and i want to do my part in making my home a better place. Its not how you react to problems which is what most of us do ie. ranting, bashing, complain, and just play victims here. We need to take resposibility for our own lives and make this place a better place for us and our future children. Its not about reacting to a problem its about responding to it, let us not make the same mistakes again. Am I wrong I only state the obvious I know the truth hurts, but no one ever said life has to be effortless it takes work. America seems to want things the easy way at the expense of others. How hard is it to treat other as you would like to be treated? Im only 19 years old and I still have much to learn but this is common sense to those who really care... Im only one person but that does not mean that I dont anything for our nation. I try to be a good citizen by voluntering at schools or just buying and donating some cans of food for our fire victims. It just comes down to caring for others. so i play my part as being a good human and a good "citizen". I dont want to judge anyone I just want to atleast educate them a litle here on this forum. I think I earned that right, cause im not sitting here just "moaning" or "ranting" like some of you said. Like I said I dont play the vicitim, I am what I am and I learn from my mistakes. How does caring make me a "liberal" or "hippie". This just proves my point about some of your lack of understanding and ignorance. But I still wish you the best and maybe you will understand one day... The only thing that I will admit to not doing and something that I wont do, is voting for president. Why? because I dont think this system works, because it seems that the one that "looks best" or the one with the most funds wins. For something so important i cant belive that people arent really researching the candidates. But I guess we prefer to just play victims and just rant nonsense instead. I actually know what to expect from each of candidates in terms of their credentials their past decisions and the origins of some of their funding. Do you know this stuff for your candidate? I mention funding twice because like I said the one the most money seems to win just check how much money these candidates have obtained compared to previous campaigns. Do you know where the money comes from? They get it from certain companies or organizations that want the support of that particular candidate... do you really think that the president will "bite the hand that fed them to where they are?" To clint, your excuse is so childish, first of all I never said that I prefer one country over another. second, the fact that some other countries treat illegal immigrants badly does not mean that we are entitled to do the same its really pathetic. I wouldnt be surprised if the population of "illegals" was over 25 million by now... it does not make sense logically and economically to "kick" them all out. we need to fix the issue like intelligent people and learn to make compromises. Most of these people pay taxes there is proof of that research it and just as many cant get their tax back for obvious reasons. WAKE-UP CLINT, Im not comparing countries I never did, Also my country is the United States I dont care right now what other countries have as policies, stick it inyour head already. I have every right to criticise this country and its problems as this is my country and my home. Getting a visa is not as easy at it seems otherwise these poeple would be trying to use them. Some of these dont meet the requirement cause theiy a really poor and most dont have a proper residence. You need to learn to stop labeling these people, to say that illegal hispanics have a lot less respect for the average american is just plain igonorant and retarded. I know who LA RAZA is, there are etremists in all societies to bring them up, just proves what you are all about. Not all of these people are "saints" most of us arent. Most of these people have good intetntions to state otherwise is foolish. Because now were are digging into human nature, if it was like you said this world would long over.. Clint, Im not insulting you, just as you refer to my comments as stupid I refer to some of yours a silly or retarded. Your lastest comment seemed choppy and a little hard to understand, but firgured out some of them. Again, I never compared any nations I dont care if its mexico or India and their respective policies. Its not relevant in any way, its about the people. Some of these people have no future back at their native countries no real chances to excel for whatever reasons. Meaning that a visa is out of the question for them anyway, they are here to build new lives. thats why there are more than 12-19 million of them. Your comments on LA RAZA did not make much sense the fact that they almost never appear in the news or the fact that they dont even register as 1/100 of a percent of the illegal population really makes them irrelevant. To label a whole people because group is to really label white people as the KKK or black people as Black Panthers, which is "stupid" itself... To compare "illegal immigration" to burglars does not really make sense. Because it involves 12-19 million people in a special circumstance tied to a single issue. Im going to state my idea on the overall topic... It just isn't logical or economically sane to essentially kick all of them out. Yeah the laws that we have are good ones but they dont really work anymore. I recommend a barrier with advanced reconassance technology in the southern border both to keep integrity of the border and to avoid uwanted deaths I belive that the people already here be given a special chance and to allow them to get on their feet. If they are capable of being a good citizen then allow them to stay. They can pay a fine for the transition... its ok. If some are bad individuals then we need to analyze them and deicide to send them back. Its about making a humane decision in how we are going to carry this out. Big difference from a gang banger, or just coming over because of necessity. Whats wrong with the above proposition? most of the people who declined something similar to this never really had a good responce and there isnt, because most of them were fueled by hate. When I asked how exactly they were personally were affected by the problem the just began to repeat the same rants again... which lead me to belive and it is widely accepted now, with history as proof that they just were ignorant and had "fear of the unknown" which feeds this type of activity. Sure I may not have all the knowledge in the world but i have an open enough mind to see whats going on. I dont dwell on on the topic of illegal immigration day and night do you think about and be honest to yourself. do you really know whats going on? Or is it all feelings or just biased junk from the radio. You see I research things to find out the "truth" not to justify my emotions on the matter. Read the las sentence again try to understand it. Im sorry if I insulted you in any way but its frustrating...

exactly. America is the one that is on wars all the time and then has to fight back. They always boast about how GREAT they are. Having olympics (i think twice), statue of liberty, the persident, havin everything from there, and how they hate australians. Why? We are all suppose to work in a TEAM!

i agree with you. i have never been out of this country, but i have realised how america lacks morals. we sadly dwell on the lifes of celebrities who are only human and make mistakes as we do, and talk more about these people then stuff that is actually important. it is rediculous. we use sex to sell everything or just to make a shows get better ratings and it works. i see what you are saying.

And just what are you doing to improve the situation? Whining doesn't do it. Exaggerating doesn't help. Are you contributing anything toward your country, other than the usual liberal moaning and groaning? While you're complaining, conservatives at home are working to make things better. Meanwhile, it's business as usual with the doom and gloom crowd.
9 :
I so agree with you. This country is in the midst of an ancient Rome revival. Our morals are in the gutter and the Clinton years only compounded our demon image before the world. I don't understand why so many among us don't get that. Though I haven't studied it firsthand, I have always heard that the 'Roaring Twenties' were similarly effected by moral ineptitude. With that in mind, my only hope for this nation is that we will again see a correction - soon - though I know that will not happen if Hillary takes office and continues pushing her anti-family values upon our youth. I understand why so many follow her because she makes their own broken lives seem 'normal,' but it is past time that we stopped trying to condone our own failures and returned to ensuring our children don't make the same mistakes.
10 :
It seems to me that the real problem with America is that no matter what the issue, instead of searching for solutions, people consistently push their own agendas.
11 :
I agreed with you until you came to you point about illegal immigrants. How can you say America is treating Illegal immigrants worse than other countries? The Australian Navy turns boats away or even sinks them, as soon as any are found they are locked up. The European citizens have lots of problems with asylum seekers and illegal immigrants, they don't welcome people with open arms but are complaining to the same extent as Americans do. It's wrong to criticise one country for doing what the majority is of the world is doing. Most Countries welcome people who have emigrated legally but also you can't expect countries to welcome people who have broken laws, when laws were made easier for these people, by either sheer laziness or a complete disrespect for the country. Japan's ethnic Korean community, who are required to register as aliens even if their ancestors have lived in Japan for generations. Have you read the Japanese government report on immigration, Immigration Battle Diary? It concludes that the Japanese do not like foreigners and that increasing immigration would be a bad thing. The number of actual immigrants is around 1.55 million or just over 1% of the total population, compare that to the USA with 20 million illegal Mexicans alone. The total number of known illegal immigrants is closer to the 30 million mark or 10% of the population if you added around 2% for legal immigrants a year then the immigration problem in the USA is a lot different to Japan. Edit ---- I wasn't making excuses but to say living in Japan you see problem in America, well everywhere has the same problems so to criticise one country above all other when they all do it is stupid. You state that living in Japan you see these problems and yet Japan is one of the most xenophobic countries around. Why should people give to criminals? I don't here you saying that people should forgive burglars since they just want a better life. Illegal immigrants jump to the front of the queue over people who filling in the forms and wait. A H2B (temporary unskilled worker visa) only has a processing time of 15 days. Most Mexicans pay more than the $500 processing fee to just gat to the border and cross illegally. Illegal immigrants pay very little taxes, they are illegal and work cash in hand so how many report these earnings. For there little taxes they pay they receive free schooling, food vouchers, free hospital care (most are not insured and simply don't pay any medical bills) so how do they benefit America? Picking fruit, only 20% of fruit picker are illegal immigrants. To say that the people treat them as sub human not correct for most people. The illegal Hispanics have a lot less respect for the average American. Have you ever looked into what La Raza stands for? It wants an ethnic cleansing of the south west USA. Oh and you criticise other people for name calling yet you're happy to call me childish and pathetic. Edit ----- You have every right to criticise your country or any country, but expect people to have different opinions. What you don't have the right is to put down a country and say it's citizens treat people evilly without comparing it to others and pointing out just how common this is. How does Mexico treat its illegal immigrants? I do know the process, a lot better than you do it seems, as I've been through it. It's not complicated. You fill in three forms, send off money and wait for an interview. As for people not qualifying for visa, that's complete BS and you know it. There are around 20 different types of visa at the moment to cover anything from a doctor to a fruit picker. If someone isn't qualified to pick fruit do you really expect him to get work in the USA? As for being really poor the average Illegal pays around $2500 for a guide to help them cross the boarder compared to $500 processing fee to do it legal. Bring up La Raza is a valid point as they are the spokes group currently that most people see regarding illegal immigrants. The fact most people see illegal immigrants as Hispanics is that over 20 million are from Mexico with around 4 million from everywhere else. Now since La Raza, as the spokes people for illegal immigrants, do not respect the average American, or do you call banners with decapitated heads being very respectful, they have to be counted as the majority of illegal immigrants are not respectful to Americans. Plus anyone who openly breaks the law cannot be respectful to that country. You argument that they are respectful doesn't make sense, would you also say a burglar is respectful of the homeowner he robbed if he wiped his feet on the doormat? If the world was like I wanted it there would be no crime. If the world was like you wanted it the streets would be full of looters. Again I haven't called you any names, but you still continue to insult me. That proves that you have no valid arguments or cannot prove mine to be wrong and are trying to undermined my opinion by calling me names. Edit --- I probably agree with you on most points and believe that you are an intelligent person, but I will refer to my main objection again. It is wrong to state that Americans treat illegal aliens as sub-human creatures who are stupid and disease ridden parasites. Americans tend to treat their illegal aliens better then most countries do. Just because someone in one country doesn't have a lot of opportunities doesn't mean they can't get a Visa. Like I pointed out, and seems to be ignored by pro illegal’s, the American government increased the number of visa and the requirement to get them. The H2A and the H2B do not require any skills since they are the unskilled visas for seasonal work, which my understanding is what most illegal’s seem to state they do. Since the American government has bent over backwards to enable these people to be able to get Visas for America why don't they at least try to become legal? Since you state that you've research this topic you will be aware that the average cost of an illegal to enter the USA is around $2500, that’s a lot more than the $500 processing fee. If they can spend $2000 more to become illegal how can they state that they can't afford the processing fee? Most people’s argument for illegal immigrants is that they are simply in American to improve there lives. I see a lot of similarity between illegal’s and burglars. - Both are criminals, whether you like it or not that is a fact. - Both have illegally enter the place where they commit there crime. - Both use the excuse that they only do it to financially aid there families. - Both pay the same rate of tax. - High rate of either of them and people start to move away. Whether this is right or wrong it does happen, changing the local communities for ever. I do agree that La Raza don't represent all illegal aliens and even put that myself but they are the most vocal group. When ever the news has a report on illegal immigration the two sides are usually minute men, who are even smaller percentage of the population, against a person from either La Raza or an associated group. I'll put my response to your opinions on the topic. The laws don't work because they are not enforced, if they were enforced, as has been shown in areas on the AZ boarders they have reduced the number of illegal’s crossing by 1000's. Agreed a barrier has been proven to reduce migration if built correctly and well guarded. The Berlin wall had 5000 people successfully illegally cross it in 20 years, this proved that it can work. If someone is capable of landing on there feet they are also capable of obtaining a visa to do so. You want a fine, how about $500 and a piece of paper that has the words Visa written on it. This still isn't fair on the people who wait and do things legally, you are rewarding people for breaking the law, it's a bit like giving a burglar a playstation to stop him stealing, I don't believe that criminals should be rewarded. However if someone is illegal how would the government keep an eye on them, they are already failing to do so and have no idea where most of the illegal’s are. How is this about making a humane decision in how we are going to carry this out? Are you worried about splitting a family up? If one partner is an American citizen then why haven't they applied for a K3 visa? If they are both illegal’s then the whole family should be ship out. The law needs changing to stop these loop holes that could separate families. Mexico Unemployment rate is low so it's not lack of jobs or opportunity, it's purely financial gain. If some was coming over due to necessity then they could do so legally and would be welcomed, why do they have to do so illegally? I agree that most illegals aren't gangsters but statistics do show that areas of high illegal aliens also have high crime rates. I too have research the topic and also looked at the problem within several countries. My opinions do not come from the radio but looking at patterns within these countries and how they deal with immigration. The simple facts are that throughout history there as been illegal immigration and it usually has bad effect on the country. Legal immigration usually has a positive effect. A simply question that I would like your opinion on. Should America prioritize looking after its current citizens above dealing with the illegal immigrant’s situation? Things like employee rights (like paid maternity, can't be fired for being sick, minimum required holidays, etc), Free health care for children under 18, etc.

You have a good perspective from having lived outside the US, however, because you're young, you lack historical perspective. The US has changed greatly over the last 10 years. The country is being run by people who mainly care about winning the next election, and who constantly manipulate people's emotions through inflammatory rhetoric and disinformation. "Illegal immigration" was not the major issue it is now until mid 2006 when the Republican party decided to appeal to its base with draconian proposals. They ramped up the natural backlash against foreigners into a frenzy of hate and then they couldn't put the genie back into the bottle in time to pass a somewhat reasonable immigration reform bill. You seem to be on a good track of thinking for yourself, but I hope you decide to vote in the presidential election. If there's one thing for certain, it really matters who the US president is. As for the people on this board, many are paid partisans or campaign volunteers, several are astro turfers. So the opinions many posters "express" are not for real and are far more extreme than the real opinions of real people.

7 :
i agree with you. i have never been out of this country, but i have realised how america lacks morals. we sadly dwell on the lifes of celebrities who are only human and make mistakes as we do, and talk more about these people then stuff that is actually important. it is rediculous. we use sex to sell everything or just to make a shows get better ratings and it works. i see what you are saying.

Why did the British cause the birth of the United States?
Why did the British cause the birth of the United States?
If the British didn't have to invade the French in the New World, then present-day USA would be a peaceful blend of French and Indian tribes. Also if the British didn't have to put tea taxes on the colonists, they wouldn't have thought to make this whole Constitution and Revolutionary War. Then the USA would not be a country! The fate of the GLOBE would be altered significantly! The Western Hemisphere's economy would not put a globe into recession. More precisely put, what gene pool of British made this whole USA? What kind of British genes would be responsible for the DNA of George W. Bush? These are descendants of Brits, are they not? If not for British colonialism that gave birth to America, I wouldn't have to be stuck in this capitalistic crazy USA with power greedy corporations and Government backing them with stimulus money. Am I correct? I know the USA is not all British (George W. Bush I think has English/Irish descent). Most Texans and Connecticut residents were English if not Irish origin. BUT the USA's first colonists were British sailors. The formation of the USA was people of primarily British origin against the British themselves. And some americans did go for Britain, one fine man was named Benedict Arnold

Why does the United States continue to throw billions and billions of dollars at third world countries?
Why does the United States continue to throw billions and billions of dollars at third world countries?
Despite that little to no progress has been made in these countries? We thrown have money at dozens of poor countries in Latin America,Asia, and the Middle East, and they're still poor. The Clinton administration admitted that "Despite decades of foreign aid, most of Latin AMerica,Africa, and Asia are economically worse off than they were 20 years ago." Take for example,Zambia. When Zambia became independent in 1964,its people's income per capita was $540(in 2001 dollars).By 2000,they were making only $300,despite SIX BILLION in foreign aid from 1980 to 1996. Africa is still poor, despite that Africa has received the financial equivalent of FIVE Marshall Plans since the 1950s. It doesn't matter how much money we give the Third World...The only people who can help Africa and Asia, are the Africans and Asians themselves.

Africa has been stagnant but is now actually booming. Nigeria is growing at 10% a year and tanzania at 6% for a start... There have been many issues holding back development in the last few decades. Corruption, poor governance, aid being used to the wrong ends. happily though, some of the longest running wars have come to an end, the continent is increasingly democratic, many countries are making use of their natural resources and the innovation of microcredit is fuelling growth. While still poor, Africa is no longer a basket case... As for Latin America, it has only just overcome the twin disasters of huge government debt and appalingly implemented free market economics in the 1980s and is mostly doing fine now. Asia has been booming, not just china and India, but also Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, even Bangladesh is growing

The question you need to ask yourself is do you really believe that the money gets to those countries or just to the criminal politicians and their supporters here and there.

I believe that the original idea was to help stop the spread of Soviet communism, that if we were to give them aid, then the Soviets couldn't gain a foothold in those regions in the world. The Soviet Union has been dead for nearly 20 years, but we still do it, all that aid should have produced something by now. All it did was enrich the political elite in those nations. The Philippines is a good example of that. We spent a lot of money on aid to his country and, Ferdinand Marcos just pocketed the money and became the dictator.
8 :
I dunno. Buying off two bit diktaters just seems stupid to me.
9 :
your point of view is very interesting, the poor countries have things in common, bad admonistration, bad legal systems and a lack of prioritization in the development programs But the problem why international aid, including american is the focus on those programs, by an example in Central America the US Aid program help a lot in anti demographic explosion programs, such as giving away condoms, and making free surgeries to those women that have a lot of children Therefore the real problem in these countries is not fighted I read recently in a brief, that if you make that girls in Latinamerica countries get to 6th grade, the non planned pregnancy decreases by 900%, that menas that the investment of those billions that you say "we throw" is bad focused the reason why the USA expend all this money is because specially Latinamerica Countries are the second market in importance to the american exports, and stremghtening the middle class in this countries mean less illegal alliens and more US exports The way to become from low class to middle class in Latinamerica is as easy as getting a formal job and that mean education, specially private because the public is fairly poor and the abandon rate is something like 70% so when this money start to become smart distributed it would fight the real causes of poverty i hope you find good my answer and if you like it, please choose it a the best answer, thanks in advance :-)

stupid Progressive elite bastards that love to spend your $$$$.

It's the same in the UK. We're massively in debt and there's people here who need support money (ie jobless, homeless, low income families, etc...). The government is saying we're all in this together and cuts have to be made because we can't afford anything. All the while giving £billions to foreign countries and the EU. Yes the foreign aid is for a good cause but the government should look after our own people and sort out our country before giving our money to other countries. And here's the kicker. Earlier this year I read that foreign countries have said Britain don't give enough. So not only are they taking our money they are ungrateful.
Despite that little to no progress has been made in these countries? We thrown have money at dozens of poor countries in Latin America,Asia, and the Middle East, and they're still poor. The Philippines is a good example of that. We spent a lot of money on aid to his country and, Ferdinand Marcos just pocketed the money and became the dictator.

I dunno. Buying off two bit diktaters just seems stupid to me.

your point of view is very interesting, the poor countries have things in common, bad admonistration, bad legal systems and a lack of prioritization in the development programs But the problem why international aid, including american is the focus on those programs, by an example in Central America the US Aid program help a lot in anti demographic explosion programs, such as giving away condoms, and making free surgeries to those women that have a lot of children Therefore the real problem in these countries is not fighted I read recently in a brief, that if you make that girls in Latinamerica countries get to 6th grade, the non planned pregnancy decreases by 900%, that menas that the investment of those billions that you say "we throw" is bad focused the reason why the USA expend all this money is because specially Latinamerica Countries are the second market in importance to the american exports, and stremghtening the middle class in this countries mean less illegal alliens and more US exports The way to become from low class to middle class in Latinamerica is as easy as getting a formal job and that mean education, specially private because the public is fairly poor and the abandon rate is something like 70% so when this money start to become smart distributed it would fight the real causes of poverty i hope you find good my answer and if you like it, please choose it a the best answer, thanks in advance :-)

stupid Progressive elite bastards that love to spend your $$$$.

Children of Illegal Aliens in the United States?
Children of Illegal Aliens in the United States?
I go to a school that has a particularly large amount of immigrants from latin America, more specifically, the majority are of Mexican descent. Most of said immigrants live in poverty, and receive much assistance from the school (reduced price lunches, etc.). My question is, because schools are required to serve students, legal or not, how much money is spent annually on aid for them? Is it a large burden on the school, as, those who are not citizens, do not necessarily pay the same taxes as those who are legal? Also, there is a fair number of students whose parents are illegal, but they themselves are legal. Does this make the student eligible to receive anything more than if they were, as their parents, illegal? I would appreciate sources Thanks, -Jonathan I have been informed by ("illegal") classmates, that they receive payment in cash and only cash. So even with a social security number, are they exempt from taxes?

The Federal Government refuses to tally those expenses. I would agree it is a lot, and some of the kids are from families with multiple I.D.s, and they don't really need those lunches. In any case, none of the figures I have seen include that expense.
2 :
whether they are legal or illegal like their parents they would still get state welfare.some people will claim this is not true but it is because the state government can not discriminate based on legal status.i'm not sure that the true amount of money they cost the US can ever fully be known but i know it costs every legal citizen a lot.
3 :
illegal or not kids always get treated the same. But mexico is a great country if they would just get up and clean it up.My sister visited there and that is what she told me.

In California I believe they said the cost to the State was about NINE BILLION dollars. (This also include the cost of incarceration, as many illegals are jailed for violent crime in California) This is one of the primary reasons California is going bankrupt.(there are other reasons too) You can only imagine how huge the cost is in total to the entire United States. (I don't have any information on the rest of your question)

Tough question, a matter of whats fair and human decency On one hand is it fair to tax me to support all these people and there children, when i myself cant afford to have children and raise them in a good surroundings. Is it also fair that these people came here of there own will illegally, perhaps work and receive a less than fair wage because they are illegal, and raise there children in poverty here instead of there own country. Its difficult, i certainly would never enjoy a child to go hungry or not go with out medical attention if really needed, just because they are illegal, But is it fair to place there burden upon us?

Illegal immigration is bad by definition. I say it that way because there is one thing that many people do not understand about it. Have you ever asked yourself why the federal government allows it to continue? Why do they make half-hearted attempts to stop it? By the way, have you ever noticed that all you need to do is drive for about 45 min to an hour and the theory that we are overpopulated kind of just dies (this is true no matter what city you live in in the world). Resources are only scarace becasue of poor administration of them by those who get rich from them. Because the USA wants the children of illegals...its called tacit approval of illegal immigration. The USA clothes, feeds, and educates these children and basically makes them AMERICAN. Why? well, Americans are not having enough children to keep the population of the USA growing at a fast enough rate and legal immigration has too many hurdles to make it practical for this purpose. So...lets all share the cost and pay to make new Americans (who cares that they don't come from US citizens). edit: ok ok, its just a conspiricy theory...but come on, the most powerful country in the world cant protect is borders from some of the most unsophisticated people in the world? Something just don't smell right here.

School districts get some funding from property tax. If the child's family lives within the school distict's limits their property tax is funding the school district. Also many illegal's still have social security and federal and state tax removed from their paychecks. They also can never collect the social security. With a TIP(tax identifacation Pinumber) the illegal can still file their tax returns.

Additional Details anyway i feel i should make 2 things clear. #1 : the financial situation in hell is better that what's in my country right now. #2 : and this is what actually matters. i'm not doing this for money, i'm doing this for love. and to answer previously raised questions in a previous discussion: * i do have a bachelor's degree for four years of full study. * the girl i fell in love with is an american citizen and living in texas at the momoent. * going to school in America sounds great, but unfortunatly i can't afford it. * i do not qualify for a Fullbright scolarship because it requires me to be atleast 25 years old. and when i say i don't care about the salary, i mean i'm not much in the way of spending and i know i'll be in a whole new country and have to start over so i only want what i need to survie day to day, just enough for food, drink and rent. one more thing, if i do find a sponser they would only need to file a form I-140 on my behalf, they are not requierd to provide me with any financial aid what so ever. and though i've worked in IT for as far as i can remember, i'm also a jack of all trades as you say and i'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty. thank you all for your quick replies, however in answer to the newly raised questions: * i have posted my resumee in job hunting sites, i'm just looking for advice because i think that is not working. * i don't want to envolve her in this because i don't want her to feel like i'm using her, it's just not an option i only told her that i would be there as fast as i can.

Some clarification. A work visa is file on an I-129 Form. The I-140 is for IMMIGRANT visa petition for alien worker. Your US citizen girl friend you fell in love with in Texas can help you two ways. She can (1) get an employer who would be willing, able to sponsor you on an H-1B visa specialty occupation based on your education and experience. Then when in the US, the same employer could sponsor you as an immigrant for the same occupation, this time on the Form I-140 immigrant visa petition form. The waiting period for the EB3 - for professionals and skilled workers - is about 5-6 years, about the same time that your H-1B would have reached its maximum duration. (2) Marry you. Then you can apply for adjustment of status (on Form I-485) based on a concurrently filed I-130 petition by a US spouse. You can also file the I-765 employment authorization form so that you can get to work. The unemployment rate in the US remains slightly above 9% so not too many US employers will sponsor a foreign worker. The fact that the 65,000 H-1B quota was reached only recently -as opposed to the quota being filled in a day or two 3 years ago - is a testament to the tight job situation - especially for sponsorships. Good luck and good day to you and your girl friend.

Not going to happen, unless you want to wait 5 years. Or you could get a fiancee visa, and go over there in 8 months or so, but you would have to marry your gf within 90 days of coming over.
4 :
you having a bachelors degree doesn't mean anything to the USA, sorry. They have PLENTY of people with BAs, MScs, and PhDs looking for jobs, and they will hire an American before hiring you. I am immigrating to the US on a fiancee visa, which sounds like your only shot. otherwise, forget about it. It's not an option? Then get used to not living in the states.
5 :
Pick a visa There are basically NINE ways that you can get a visa to live and work in the US: (1) Marriage (or engagement in anticipation of marriage) to a US citizen. (2) You have skills that are in short supply in the US e.g. scientific or medical training. A degree is normally a must. Or you have superior specialist skills with at least 12 years experience. (H visas) (3) You have an Employer who is willing to transfer you - but even the employer has to make a good case for you - so you have to be a manager unless you fall under category (2) above.(L visas) (4) You may get a Green card in the diversity lottery (UK citizens, except N.Ireland, are not generally eligible unless you, your spouse or parents were born abroad or held a different citizenship. (5)You own or buy business (does not get you permanent resident status i.e. no green card)You must be a national of a qualifying Treaty countries. The business must have a minimum value of around $150k (more the better) bearing in mind you will need somewhere to live and with any startup business you will need at least 2 years living money as back up. So a figure of $350k would be a nearer minimum (E-2 visas) (6)You are an "investor" i.e. you have at least US $1m in assets to bring with you. half of that in a few areas. And your background will be investigated to the hilt. (EB-5 visas) (7)You have a close relative (mother, father, brother, sister and no further) who is an US citizen who would sponsor you, approx time this take 2-12 years? (8.The R1 visa is available to foreign members of religious denominations, having bona fide non-profit religious organizations in the U.S., for entering the U.S. to carry on the activities of a minister or religious worker as a profession, occupation or vocation (9)THE UNUSUAL You are in a position to claim refugee status/political asylum. or You get a member of Congress to sponsor a private bill with legislation that applies just to you. The S visa issued to persons who assist US law enforcement to investigate and prosecute crimes and terrorist activities such as money laundering and organized crime Recruitment agent will not take you seriously if you are not already in the US. Writing for jobs is really a waste of time; likewise US employers have no idea what foreign qualification are or mean (except Degrees) it may pay you to get your qualification translated into a US equivalent, there are Companies that do this (www.wes.org) .. But if you are getting a visa under (2) above then you need a job offer before you can get the visa. Your Employer will be your sponsor this will cost them upward of $5k. So you can see you have to be offering something really special to get considered They may also have to prove to the Dept of labor that there is no American who can do the job if the position is to be permanent ©

Not possible, you need to have skills so rare that the employer can't find an amrican to do the job. So based on what you said its impossible.

why are some anime's released in the united states and not dubbed in english?
i don't buy anime that is not dubbed in english primarily because i can't speak japanese i will learn japanese one day mostly to watch anime that is only in japanese but i can't find logic in not dubbing an anime in english there are not that many people in america that speak japanese fluently i find it kind of lazy of them to not dub it it seems like they wanted to make money without doing the work but i could be wrong it could be a japanese company licensing it in america which would make sense that they wouldn't dub it. i know a lot of american anime fans like to watch anime in japanese but i also know they like to watch the english dub first so they can get a understanding of the story because when your watching anime in a language you don't understand you have to use subtitles and with subtitles it's either you look at the subtitles and have no idea what's going on or you look at the screen and see very little of the subtitles. so anyways what is the reason they release some anime's in america without dubbing it first. i could understand if they were to dub it in spanish because a lot of american's speak spanish

Because the company that licensed it believed they could sell the anime for more profit in Japanese with English subtitles instead of dubbing it, or the company didn't have enough money to actually dub it.
2 :
The reason is simple, money. Releasing a movie with subtitles costs a fraction of a release dubbed in English. I actually prefer subtitles, for some reason I get a better feel for the spirit of the film when I watch it in the native language.

Could legalizing marijuana lower gun violence in the United States?
Could legalizing marijuana lower gun violence in the United States?
I am a huge supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and i am also very much for legalization of marijuana. America has about 10000 gun crimes each year, is it because of my AK 47, of course not, that is absurd. It is because of the huge amount of drugs on the street, which leads to the animosity between gangs. Most of the money used to buy these hardcore expensive drugs, comes from the most used illicit drug in this country, marijuana. By taking this away from drug dealers they will not be able to spend money on expensive drugs, and that it there only way of making money to buy illegal drugs. Am i saying that this will stop hardcore drug use and gun violence, of course not, but it will however make the drugs and guns much harder to get. But my question to you is, do you think legalizing weed could have a large impact on gun violence, and har drugs? If so, why would any sensible person be against the legalization of weed? Remember the drug business is just like an ecosystem. Say you take grass out of nature, many species would go extinct. Marijuana enables dealers to buy other drugsand guns. Also, if you know anything about drug dealing and drugs, you know you don't just start selling crack and cocaine.

no gun violence will exist as long as illegal guns are sold legalizing pot makes no difference their are so many drugs it will still be bad as always..

Not likely.

No, But it would create jobs and help bring the economy back to life.
4 :
why in the hell would you think that

remember guns don't kill people people kill people, this means that there are more murderers in america than europe don't change the law, change countries

I doubt it as the illicit drug trade for harder drugs will continue with or without the profits from marijuana... (and there is a lot more money to be made with the more expensive, easier to transport and distribute "hard drugs").... But I think there are plenty of other great reasons to legalize pot, like the taxes that could be collected, less dangerous drug than alcohol, etc.. funny how the wrestler hood guy assumes that "drugs" are a "black" problem when statistics show that the average pot smoker is white...

Yes. <sarcasm alert> Think of all of the shootings that occur over purchasing legal substances like milk, bread, cigarettes, and beer. The papers are FULL of milk violence. Chocolate milk gangs are among the most violent. Almost every day we hear of a couple of people being gunned down, when a back-alley bread buy goes wrong. People getting shot in the head over a dozen bagels. It is sickening. Well, we DO have to scratch our heads and wonder why only ILLEGAL substances generate so much crime, don't we? Actually, I suppose the intelligent people don't have to wonder that. Sadly, the idiots will never question the United States' failed, illegal, unconstitutional scam called the "War on Drugs". When Prohibition ended, alcohol violence stopped over night. When Marijuana is legalized, the violence surrounding it will stop just as quickly.

Also, if you know anything about drug dealing and drugs, you know you don't just start selling crack and cocaine.

no gun violence will exist as long as illegal guns are sold legalizing pot makes no difference their are so many drugs it will still be bad as always..
2 :
Not likely.
3 :
No, But it would create jobs and help bring the economy back to life.
4 :
why in the hell would you think that
5 :
remember guns don't kill people people kill people, this means that there are more murderers in america than europe don't change the law, change countries

And police, in your jurisdictiion, what is the main cause of gun crimes?

I don't see weed as having a major impact on violence. All it ever did for me was make me hungry and very mellow. What I do see is the Crack cocaine users going ballistic in a heartbeat and if they haven't hocked their weapon, they are willing to use it. That and heroin addicts in need of a fix. Crack heads will steal from you then hang around and help you look for what they stole!
3 :
It's ridiculous how the gun lobby tries to blame gun violence on everything except guns. First it was violent movies, then video games, then sentencing laws, then cigarettes, and now marijuana. High gun ownership = high crime. You can be in denial all you want, it's not going to change basic facts. As you said, America has about 10000 gun crimes each year, and only a small fraction of them have anything to do with marijuana.
4 :
I strongly believe that there would be a lot less crime of every nature if everyone would just get up and smoke a joint in the morning!

is there anywhere in the united states where a person can liveoff the land without buying it?
is there anywhere in the united states where a person can liveoff the land without buying it?
i am considering (probably will never even try it lol)taking one full year of my life to live as simply as i can, kind of a walden like experience but maybe not quite so crude or secluded. i am thinking of buying an old school buss converting it into a motor home selling all my possessions to pay off my debts (lucky for me i COULD pay off all my debts) and just trying a new way of living. no time card to punch no work stress no major commitments no horrible debt to try to pay off, just live day to day and find ways to make enough money for basic food clothing and fuel. it would also be nice to be able to plant a garden and maybe make some of my money off of the sale of produce but that is where the problem comes in, where could i settle down for a growing season and use the land without having to buy or rent it? people used to be able to do that, that is technically the "natural" way of things, is it possible in America to do such a thing? if so where?

I think you have the US confused with a free country. Yes, it's possible to live off the grid, so to speak, but it's becoming harder and harder with every passing year. Just don't get caught.
2 :
I think it's a great idea. But you'd probably have to save up some money to lease some land.
3 :
I guess not......considering a man in Seattle who has lived in a treehouse for the last two years is being evicted from his treehouse. He didnt bother anyone...was an asset to that community...but we arent free. Im so saddened. Thoreau! What a man!!!!
4 :
There are such places, but not many in the lower 48. One of the necessities is water. You can find plenty of open land owned by BLM out in the desert of Nevada but any place even close to water is going to be privately owned. You could make arrangements with a larger ranch to stay free for a year, in exchange for some duty like looking or stray cows.

What do you think of the United States capitalistic system?
What do you think of the United States capitalistic system?
Personally, I think it's bullshit. Made for the rich to get richer, and the poor to get screwed. I think the fact that the richest 1% make more than the lowest 95% combined is the most ridiculous thing imaginable. Corporations are beginning to turn into our government and the making everything private is making it so that the middle-class are turning into the poor and no one else has near the same rights as everyone who can afford it. The corporate greed in this nation is taking over our ethical values and what we know is right. Capitalism is far more deadly than any murderer or convict. It leads people to an addiction to money, far worse than any drug (which I happen to think aren't bad in the first place... but that's another story). Capitalism has lead to the destruction of America and all that it represented, in my opinion. Reagan lead this country into a whole that we cannot get out of and killed everything America was and everything the forefathers and ex-presidents gave us.

ummmm, we are not really a capitalistic country anymore. the government is in charge now and caters to the lobbyist who have the most cash.. no matter what a small business owner in the US does (or even a home owner) the government interferes in many ways.

it is very unethical and brings out the worst in us. i dont think there are any poor people in the u.s. the real victims are outside the u.s.

We don't really have a capitalist system. In a capitalist economy, everyone has equal access to the market and our government has allowed that to be blocked by the megacorporations.

Thanks for the propaganda, but America's Founders intended for us to be free. What you want is for the government to control who gets what and that is the opposite of freedom. I live in a mobile home but it's because I've earned it, and I'm proud of it. If I'd gone to college I'd probably have something better, but I didn't because I didn't want to. I'd die before I'd submit to a totalitarian marxist governemnt that has the power to make all my decisions for me. I'll keep what I earn and I'll let others do the same

When you start to particiapate in it then your opinion would matter but since you have a psydo education on economics I am sure you think the govt is benevolent and actually cares about you as an individual but that belief will come crashing down when you are denied the drugs that could stop the spread of cancer in your left breast then you will have denial then you will die. Commies like you give marxist a bad name and as for the Capitalistic System Of America it was killed off two years ago officially.
6 :
I agree with you Capitalism does ruin peoples integrity and moral values of people, and capitalism does cater to the greedy and rich. But we have to look at the bigger picture it is very difficult to create a political policy that does not cater to the rich. The only system that does not cater to this is Karl Marx system but even that does not work. As philosophers say it is in peoples nature to be greedy which ever system you choose there will always be a group of rich people.
7 :
Did you look at the other side of the argument before you vehemently backed Marxism? You obviously need to look at your history textbooks, or you would now that history has shown that capitalism has been more efficient, produced more prosperity, and given a higher standard of living to more people than communism ever has.

I need legal counsel or an accountant who knows the laws of the state bank and the united states?
Greeting I'd like guidance on something, it happens that my friend was looking for work in the USA found an Internet about being the personal assistant to a person who was outside the country, the man said in his work that would send a number money for him to make a purchase and send it to the country where he was because in America it was cheaper and I was going to make a payment for each order that you did, also informed him that the check would arrive to send him, it happens that the man told my friend that was going to send a check in which my friend had to collect their pay and send the rest, when my friend get this check, he had come to name him, but he sent someone who was not the man who hired him, he spoke with U.S. police on this man who hired him for the job taught him the checks but did not say it was another person who sent it and they said that it was confident of this legal thing my friend went to cash the check with a personal speech for a nurse bank and they say that all is well that one day the check would be transferred in cash to your account bank, spend a day and my friend check your account and check the money is in it, seeing it comes to withdrawing money from their account to withdraw their pay they were $ 400 and transfer the remaining money that was left of the check, as 3 days later my friend is going to withdraw money he had saved and going to an ATM to withdraw your money and says he can not see that the bank calls and tells them what happened informs you that your account has been closed because check that the tank had no back, I had to pay the amount the check cashing in 110 days had to pay, also said they can not have more account to any other bank in USA, and this will lower your credit. Now my questions are: 1. because the bank is charging you money on when they should collect it from the person who wrote the check? 2. because the bank before depositing the cash will not be checking on that day gave him the check had no background? 3. it was the duty of the bank before giving money to check why did not they? 4. It is the fault of the bank that this happening? when I ask this question I mean that they ought to review before making a deposit? 5. to be my friend to do? already sent a message to that contract, talk to the police and told them to look for information from the gentleman in the bank where the check came, and unless the Lord appeared in 15 days I had to make a statement and were going to find. 6. In these cases, so does a bank, where the person retirement check is not at fault and was the victim of a hoax, and if this person is not listed? 7. there is not any way that this will not affect your credit? Thanks for your help: D
